Longtime state lobbyist Steve Kimbell will serve as insurance commissioner of Vermont, incoming Gov. Peter Shumlin has announced
Kimbell will head the Department of Banking, Insurance, Securities and Health Care Administration.
Shumlin, a democrat, announced the appointment at a press conference this week.
The department’s current commissioner, Michael Bertrand, was appointed by outgoing Republican Gov. James Douglas in June.
