Property owners in Virginia have submitted hundreds of claims to insurers for damage caused by recent tornadoes.
The Virginian-Pilot reports that State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. received about 400 claims by Wednesday morning. Nationwide Mutual Insurance Co. received 130 claims.
Spokeswomen for the insurers say most of claims are concentrated in Gloucester County.
The National Weather Service has confirmed 10 tornadoes swept through Virginia over the weekend. The twister that hit Gloucester County packed winds of 136 to 167 miles per hour.
