About a dozen school buses are damaged or destroyed after a fire tore through the garage holding a northwestern Pennsylvania district’s vehicles.
A state police fire marshal is investigating the cause of the blaze that broke out Monday afternoon in the Girard School District’s garage in Lake City, Erie County.
Lake City Fire Chief Marvin Waxham tells the Erie Times-News the blaze was a hot, smoky fire fed by fuel, tires and other flammable material. No injuries were reported.
The blaze took several hours to get under control. Fourteen of the garage’s 16 bays were destroyed.
