Massachusetts insurance officials have updated estimates on insurance claims resulting from this month’s Western and Central Massachusetts tornadoes, with 9,500 claims totaling an estimated $175 million having been reported by insurance carriers.
According to the Division of Insurance, insurance companies have received a total of 5,000 personal insurance claims, totaling $135 million. Companies have received 1,000 commercial property claims, with a price tag of $20 million. There have been 3,500 auto insurance claims filed, totaling $20 million.
