Utica National Insurance Group in New Hartford, New York, has appointed industry veteran Raymond Cox as senior vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer.
Cox comes to Utica National Insurance from Munich Reinsurance America in Princeton, New Jersey, where he served as vice president and treasurer.
In his new role, he will be responsible for overseeing the company’s accounting, financial reporting, investments, tax, planning and budgeting, credit and collections, procurement, accounts payable, and facilities.
He brings 33 years of insurance and reinsurance experience to the position, with a background in finance and accounting as well having managed reinsurance intermediaries and rent-a-captives, and having served on the boards of several insurance and insurance-related services companies.
Utica National sells commercial coverages, as well as home and auto insurance. The company also offers various specialized markets, including the graphic arts trades, schools, libraries, religious institutions and volunteer fire departments, as well as errors and omissions coverage for insurance agents. Utica National employs approximately 1,500 people nationwide.
