Connecticut’s governor is pointing small businesses affected by Superstorm Sandy to a state website designed to streamline the process of filing for relief.
Gov. Dannel Malloy’s office says small businesses can apply for a share of federal grants at ctrecovers.ct.gov.
In July, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development approved a state plan for disbursing $71.82 million, through a block grant program.
The state has allocated about $4 million to support small businesses that were damaged or lost income due to the storm in Fairfield, New London, New Haven, and Middlesex counties and on Mashantucket Pequot land.
Grants ranging from $10,000 to $50,000 are available, but only for expenses not covered by insurance.
