Appel Insurance Advisors, a Newton, Mass.-based insurance brokerage, has hired veteran attorney Joseph H. Newberg as director of business development.
Newberg recently retired as a tax partner at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP in Boston and was formerly a shareholder at Hutchins, Wheeler & Dittmar P.C. Prior to joining Hutchins, Wheeler & Dittmar in 1997, he was a tax partner at Sullivan & Worcester LLP.
Appel Insurance Advisors said Newberg will help develop professional and business referrals. Established in 1992, Appel Insurance Advisors provides life, health, disability income, and long term care insurance.
