Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley has announced a disaster relief package to help residents of Allegany and Washington counties who were affected by flooding in June.
The governor announced the relief last Friday.
The governor’s office says residents may receive up to $5,000 in grants to pay for temporary housing, medical needs, moving and storage. They also can apply for aid for personal property, including clothing, essential tools and equipment and vehicle damage, as well as emergency housing repairs.
On Monday, the state will open a center in both counties to help people apply.
One will be at the Cresaptown Volunteer Fire Department. The other will be at the Clear Spring Volunteer Fire Company. The centers will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Aug. 17.
