Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company announced that the New York-based Freedom Specialty Insurance Company is taking on the Nationwide name, effective Oct. 8.
Freedom Specialty’s rebranding aims to leverage Nationwide’s brand recognition, diverse product offerings, and financial stability, the announcement said.
“This is part of our overall brand strategy and will help build the financial strength of Nationwide,” said Tom Iorio, vice president, Nationwide Management Liability and Specialty.
The announcement said Freedom Specialty customers will continue to benefit from the stability of a Fortune 100 company with strong credit ratings, combined with the responsiveness of a niche insurance carrier.
Freedom Specialty Insurance, a Nationwide company, provides specialty liability insurance and surety.
