Big I New York, the state’s oldest insurance producer trade organization, has appointed Scott W. Hobson as its director of government relations.
In this role, Hobson is responsible for developing and advancing Big I New York’s government relations strategy and advocacy approach. He will work with others within the organization to create and deploy advocacy plans, craft messaging and material for release to the organization’s member agents and brokers, build and maintain relationships with lawmakers and regulators and analyze relevant and proposed legislation and regulations that affect the members.
Hobson was previously manager of government affairs for the Lawsuit Reform Alliance of New York, an organization dedicated to reducing lawsuit abuse. He has also served as grassroots manager for New York and Vermont for the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network.
