Pennsylvania’s Workpartners Maintains Excellent Rating from A.M. Best

Workpartners, which is part of UPMC Insurance Services, has retained its financial strength rating of A- (Excellent) with a stable outlook from A.M. Best.

The A- (Excellent) rating with a stable outlook applies to UPMC Workers’ Compensation Group, which includes UPMC Health Benefits Inc. and UPMC Work Alliance Inc. All entities are part of UPMC’s Workpartners workers’ compensation line of business.

The insurance ratings reflect what A.M. Best described as Workpartners’ strong balance sheet with “strong liquidity and cash flow measures.” A.M. Best recognized the Workers’ Compensation products as being in the top category of risk-adjusted capitalization, or 99.6% as measured by Best’s Capital Adequacy Ratio.

As part of its stable outlook, A.M. Best also noted that Workpartners has a “strong reputation as a member of the UPMC Insurance Services Division and carries the UPMC name, which is well recognized in the operating region.”
