Guy Carpenter & Company, the global risk and reinsurance specialist of the Marsh & McLennan Companies, has appointed Rupert Bedford as Head of Broking for the UK operations of GCFac™, the firm’s dedicated facultative reinsurance unit. Bedford, 46, will be based in London, reporting to Mark Newman, Head of GCFac UK, and will be responsible for overseeing broking operations in the UK, for all regions in which GCFac operates.
Bedford joins Guy Carpenter from Aon, Ltd., where he was an Executive Director of its London Global Property and Casualty Division. He has over 26 years of London market experience, 18 of which were spent at Sedgwick, Marsh and Guy Carpenter.
Newman praised Bedford’s “outstanding depth of experience in the retail, wholesale and reinsurance business and markets in all of our key geographies, including Asia Pacific, Latin America and North America.”
