Newman Martin and Buchan, an independent Lloyd’s insurance and reinsurance broker, has appointed Hilde Thon as a director of its energy division. Thon, a Norwegian national, has 25 years’ experience in the marine and energy insurance broking sector and worked in the Norwegian insurance market before moving to London in 2005.
Andrew Draycott, managing director of NMB’s energy division expressed the firm’s pleasure with its new director, indicating that “she brings a great deal of knowledge and experience of all aspects of energy account handling.”
Thon noted that she has worked with NMB over many years from both Oslo and London, and considers it “one the best resourced energy divisions in the market. It is this breadth of expertise that attracted me to the company and I am very much looking forward to being part of the team.”
