Willis Appoints Asia Marketing Officer; Outlines Strategy

Willis Group Holdings announced the appointment of Paul Ward as Regional Marketing Officer for Asia. He will work with carriers to identify growth opportunities and develop marketing strategies for large accounts. Willis said the “appointment strengthens the regional management team and supports Shaping our Future Marketing, a key element in Willis’ Shaping our Future strategy to deliver profitable growth.”

Ward will be based in Singapore and will report to Roger Wilkinson, Managing Director of Willis Asia.

He brings 13 years of international experience with him to the position. He spent the first eight of these at Aon, before moving to Willis. Most recently he led the Willis Global Markets team in Singapore, where he was responsible for placement of large and complex regional risks into the Asian and International markets.

Willis explained that his appointment highlights the broker’s “commitment to improving and expanding its marketing offering in Asia.” Williamson noted Ward’s “breadth of international experience,” indicating it is a “major asset in our drive to capitalize on the opportunities in this high-growth region”

Ward cited the “explosion of underwriting expertise in Asia in recent years and the prospects for economic growth and development in the region, as making it an “exciting place to be working with insurers.”
