XL Insurance, the global insurance operations of XL Capital, has announced the hiring of three additional underwriters for its London-based aviation business.
“The London team will be headed by Simon Murray as Regional Manager – Aviation,” said the bulletin. “He will be joined by Class Underwriters James Owen and Andrew Innes. All three join XL Insurance from Catlin.”
Murray has over 20 years’ underwriting experience in the London insurance market, most recently as senior aviation underwriter. Owen has been working in the aviation insurance industry for 15 years and Innes has 14 years’ experience. Murray will report to Christopher O’Gwen, Chief Underwriting Officer, Global Aerospace.
He commented: “We are pleased to announce the appointment of Simon, James and Andrew to XL Insurance’s London aviation team, further strengthening our established reputation for service and underwriting, including the most complex aviation risks. Each underwriter brings with him a wealth of aviation insurance expertise, particularly in the Lloyd’s of London market.”
