Jorge Luzzi, Worldwide Director of the Risk Management Department for the Italian based industrial group Pirelli, has been appointed as a member of the board of the Federation of European Risk Management Associations (FERMA).
He is also a member of the Italian risk management association ANRA, and is currently President of the International Federation of Risk and Insurance Associations (IFRIMA).
Luzzi began his career in insurance and risk management in 1971. Before joining Pirelli he worked for a number of companies, including Deutsche Bank, Marsh & McLennan and Ciba Geigy (Novartis).
FERMA’s bulletin noted that his “career has taken him to Switzerland, Spain, Argentina, Brazil, Bermuda, Ireland and Italy. He is a member of the US Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS), and in 2002 received the RIMS Goodell Award for lifetime achievement in the field. This award is for lifetime achievement in risk management and it is the most prestigious award RIMS presents to an individual.”
Luzzi replaces Franck Baron on the board of FERMA. Baron has joined Axa Corporate Solutions where he is responsible for business development of risk engineering, consulting and servicing activities within Europe. He will, however, continue as chairman of the organizing committee for FERMA’s biannual Forum which will take place in Prague on 4-7 October 2009.
