Willis Group Holdings announced that it has appointed Francis Kean, “one of the UK’s leading directors & officers and professional liability lawyers, as an Executive Director in FINEX Global, the insurance broker’s Financial, Executive Risk and Professional Liability business.”
He is based in London and will “be providing clients with risk management advice. Kean will report to the division’s chairman Roland Avery.
Willis noted that Kean is a former Partner with law firm Barlow Lyde and Gilbert LLP with 25 years of experience as a litigation lawyer specializing in professional indemnity, financial institutions and directors & officers’ liability in the London insurance market.
He has handled a “wide variety of claims both for insurers and insureds, and has considerable experience of drafting policies and advising all parties in connection with coverage issues,” said Willis. “He has handled claims and disputes ranging from large, international securities cases to wrongful trading and directors’ disqualification actions. He is the leading editor of a book entitled “D&O Liability Insurance” that was published by the Insurance Institute of London in 2010 and is a regular speaker at conferences and events.
