In the Feb. 10, 2011, article regarding Zurich Financial Services’ results for the year ended Dec. 31, 2010, Insurance Journal incorrectly stated information regarding the Farmers Exchanges, which are managed but not owned by Farmers Group Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Zurich Financial Services Group.
In the article, Insurance Journal incorrectly reported that the Farmers Exchanges in 2010 experienced a decline in gross premiums written when, in fact, the Farmers Exchanges in 2010 experienced an increase in premiums.
Growth at the Farmers Insurance Exchanges was driven by the contribution from 21st Century Insurance Co., which was acquired by Farmers in 2009.
Insurance Journal regrets reporting this incorrect information. The Feb. 10 article has been corrected.
