Zurich Financial Services Group announced the appointment of Luca Marighetti (50, Italian citizen) to the position of Group Head of Strategy, effective July 1. He succeeds Christian Carl who, Zurich said, “will fully focus on his function as Group Head of M&A.”
Marighetti will be responsible for “leading the process of defining Zurich’s Group strategy. He will ensure a strong link to the planning process and support the CEO in reviewing existing strategies and monitoring execution. He will report directly to CEO Martin Senn and be based in Zurich.”
Marighetti has nearly 30 years of professional experience. He has held a number of senior roles at Procter & Gamble, SC Johnson, McKinsey & Company, Deutsche Bank and Allianz Group. He has also worked as an independent strategic management consultant.
He studied medieval literature and history at the University of Constance and earned his PhD in philosophy.
