UK-based insurer AmTrust Europe, Ltd., a FSA [Financial Services Authority] authorized insurance company, which already has had operations in Italy “under freedom of services (LPS) for a number of years,” announced that it “has been given the green light from the FSA to change its operations in a scheme of establishment’s freedom (LS) and locate an office in Italy.”
The Company said it “will establish an office in Milan; opening in early 2012. The AmTrust Europe legal representative for the Italy-based office will be Italian-American Emmanuel Netzer, who obtained a MBA degree at NYU and has more than 10 years of experience working for several prominent multinational organizations.”
The bulletin also noted that AmTrust Europe “is a leader in the coverage of health risks in Italy and has recently acquired MCM MedMal Claims Management, Ltd., a company specializing in the management and settlement of health claims. AmTrust Europe has an “A” (Excellent) rating issued by A.M. Best.
AmTrust Europe is headquartered in Nottingham, England. It provides general insurance products and support services, focusing on niche, low-hazard risks in property, casualty, specialty risk, accident and health, legal and warranty insurance products.
It is comprised of two regulated insurance companies, AmTrust Europe, Ltd. and AmTrust International Underwriters, Ltd., both which are authorized to underwrite business throughout Europe.
