The newly acquired Lloyd’s ANV Syndicate announced the opening of its Accident and Health (A&H) business. The business was “previously authorized as part of Syndicate 1861’s 2012 business plan and in alignment with the ANV team’s focus on building its core underwriting foundation across all lines,” said the bulletin.
The A&H business “will be staffed by a selection of experienced underwriters lead by Dale Willetts and to include Andrew Fuller and Lisa Skinner,” who have a combined total of over 30 years of market experience.
ANV Syndicate’s Underwriting Director Richard Housley commented: “With the acquisition of the syndicate completed and with the full support of ANV Group going forward, we are very pleased to be moving into operation with this A&H business and to begin building the strength of the syndicate in all the lines of business where we are authorized.”
The bulletin noted that “ANV and its lead investor, Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, are building a best-in-class global specialty insurance group. ANV provides underwriting for specialty risk solutions for global organizations both as a MGA as well as a risk bearing insurer. With offices in, Hong Kong, Barcelona, London, Rio de Janeiro and New York City, ANV has built a team of leading underwriting specialists focused on providing solutions for specialty risks on a global basis.
