HCC Insurance Holdings announced the promotion of Simon Button to Chief Underwriting Officer for HCC International Insurance Company PLC and Lloyd’s Syndicate 4141 (known collectively as HCC International). He reports to HCC International’s CEO Barry J. Cook, who expressed his confidence in Buttons “ability to lead our underwriting efforts across HCC’s London Market business lines.”
Button started with HCC in 2000. He has over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, including extensive energy underwriting and reinsurance experience. Most recently, he was the Head of Energy and Marine Underwriting.
“The International segment of our business is an important part of HCC’s long-term strategy and future development, and we are pleased that Simon plays such an integral role in the leadership of this part of HCC’s business,” said Christopher J.B. Williams, HCC’s CEO.
