Worldwide Broker Network Celebrates 25th Anniversary

February 10, 2014

The Worldwide Broker Network, the network of independent property/casualty brokers and employee benefits consultants, has begun a year-long celebration of its 25th anniversary. More than 90 executives from 27 different European countries gathered at the London headquarters of sponsors Allied World Assurance Company to network and address European-specific issues.

The conference, hosted by AFL Insurance Brokers, also included two speeches from outside guests. Jacob Rees-Mogg, member of Parliament for North East Somerset, focused on the current state of the European Union and the UK’s relations with it. In addition cyber expert Neil Hare-Brown provided a reality check on the true nature of the cyber threat and the insurance industry’s responsiveness to it.

WBN’s next worldwide conference will be in Denver in April, where the network will continue its anniversary celebrations in addition to three days of working meetings and presentations by outside speakers and insurance company executives. The network will then maintain a presence at RIMS 2014.

The broker network was formed in 1989 with just nine European members. It currently has nearly 100 members in more than 75 countries and territories on six continents, with offices in all major cities across the globe providing a full range of commercial insurance products and employee benefits consulting services.
