Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group plc has announced the establishment of JLT Re Argentina (JLT Re Argentina Corredores de Reaseguros S.A.). The new venture is to be based in Buenos Aires, and will be headed by Matias Rosales as its CEO. He was formerly General Manager of Cooper Gay Argentina.
JLT said the “business will work closely with JLT’s existing operations in Brazil, Chile, Peru and Colombia as well as the rest of JLT’s international network, to bring JLT’s distinctive specialty-led skills and innovative solutions to some of the largest and most exciting companies in Argentina.”
Rosales commented: “The establishment of JLT Re Argentina will provide clients with a distinctive alternative, enhancing access to international markets, supported by JLT’s experience, scale and specialty skills. I am very confident that the expertise in the local team, combined with the breadth and depth of JLT Group, will allow us to make a strong impact in the local and regional market”.
Mike Methley, CEO Latin America for the JLT Group, welcomed “Rosales and the team to the JLT Group.” He explained that JLT views Argentina as a “strategically very important and dynamic economy.”
He added that the establishment of the Argentine unit is “another step forward in our strategy of further building our strong presence in the region and deepening our specialty capabilities. JLT Re Argentina will help drive the continued growth and momentum of JLT’s very successful Latin American operations.”
