Aon Benfield, the global reinsurance intermediary and capital advisor of Aon plc, announced the appointment of Alejandro J. Galizia as Chief Executive Officer of Aon Benfield Latin America. His responsibilities will include “driving business growth, managing client teams, and creating and maintaining a business environment that is supportive to optimizing Latin America client results,” said the announcement. He will report to William Farmer, Aon Benfield’s Vice Chairman.
Galizia started his career in 1989 at Sul America Group as Reinsurance and Special Business Manager. He joined Aon Group in 1996 as Commercial Director and was appointed CEO of Aon Re Argentina in 2000. From 2004 to 2008 he was in charge of the South Region of Aon Re Latin America, and has since occupied several executive positions for Aon Benfield in the region.
Farmer noted Galizia’s “extensive reinsurance industry experience,” adding that he “brings tremendous focus and expertise to this new role, which will ensure that Aon Benfield continues to deliver the best service to our clients. We are thrilled that he will lead our Latin American team.”
