UK-Based Arc Legal Assistance announced that it has been selected by Saga, a UK-based provider of services primarily to people over 50, which includes cruises and holidays, home and motor insurance, savings and share dealing, to provide a Landlord Legal Expenses policy included within its new dedicated Landlord Home Insurance product.
The announcement explained that “Saga’s customers will have automatic cover for pursuing proceedings to evict tenants or recover possession of the property in the event of a breach of the terms of the tenancy agreement, defense of criminal prosecutions under specified gas, electrical equipment and furniture and furnishing regulations, contract disputes, as well as non-tenancy related property infringement or damage. There are also rent guarantee cover options available.”
Richard Finan, Director of Arc Legal said the policy with Saga would provide “essential protection for landlord customers,” and that it has been “chosen to enrich the core product to include the cover as an automatic benefit, rather than using the cover to generate ancillary income.”
