ACE Launches Mobile App for Europe-Based Business Travel Clients

March 18, 2015

ACE Group has launched ACE Travel Smart, a new mobile app, as part of its business travel insurance proposition for Europe-based businesses with international exposures.

According to ACE research, 86 percent of European businesses say their reliance on business travel remains as high as ever despite the advent of new technology. ACE Travel Smart has been developed to help employers to fulfill their duty of care and mitigate the risks faced by employees while travelling. It offers:

  • An assistance contact button, giving direct access to ACE’s medical and emergency assistance partners whether they need advice on a minor ailment or a serious condition,
  • Live access to location-specific safety alerts (including for diseases, crime, civil unrest, acts of terrorism and natural disasters),
  • Translations of common medical conditions and medications,
  • Up-to-date embassy and consulate contact information,
  • A currency converter,
  • Pre-travel destination advice and information.

In a second version to be rolled out shortly, ACE Travel Smart will add new enhanced functionality, including an innovative online dashboard for risk, insurance, HR and benefit managers that will help them track and communicate with their travelling employees in real-time.

It will also provide ACE’s multinational customers with access to the ACE Worldview technology platform.

The app is the latest feature of ACE Business Class, the company’s business travel insurance proposition. Alongside comprehensive insurance and assistance coverage for business travel worldwide, ACE Business Class offers – as standard – emergency medical transportation; security evacuation covering a wide range of perils including political or social unrest, terrorist attack or natural disaster; and access to emergency security advisory and assistance services alongside optional features and specialist expertise for high-risk industries.

Stephane Baj, regional director, of A&H Corporate and Affinity for ACE in EMEA, said:

“With employees increasingly travelling to less well-known destinations, EMEA businesses need a solution that offers comprehensive insurance cover, combined with high-quality 24/7 emergency and medical assistance and the technology that helps them stay in control.”

Baj said Travel Smart is designed to help employers “to fulfill their duty of care while providing the information that staff need to make their travel safer and easier.”
