DUAL, the underwriting agency arm of Hyperion Insurance Group, has opened its first office in The Netherlands.
The Rotterdam office will initially write marine and energy lines with DUAL’s complete suite of products added over time, according to DUAL in a statement.
DUAL Netherlands forms part of the group’s new Global Marine and Energy Practice led by Bernt Hellman. DUAL’s global marine and energy business is backed by CNA Hardy’s Lloyd’s syndicate and other Lloyd’s markets.
The underwriting team will be led by Harry Mulder, who has had extensive experience in the Dutch market across this class of business. Mulder has held a number of industry positions including chairman of the Marine Committee of the Dutch Association of Insurance and chairman of NBKB. He is also a former chairman of the IUMI IFY Committee.
The DUAL team also includes Senior Underwriter Abdes El-Häidouri, a well-respected underwriter in the Dutch marine market, and Claims Manager Frenk Villerius, who has over 20 years’ marine claims experience and is a member of the IVR Technical Claims Committee.
Harry Mulder, managing director of DUAL Netherlands commented: “I’m delighted to be bringing DUAL to The Netherlands. It’s not only a fantastic opportunity for the team to build on the relationships we already have with Dutch brokers and clients but it also gives us an opportunity to introduce new marine and energy products to the Dutch market.”
