RMS, the Newark, Calif.-based catastrophe risk management firm, announced it has named Sanjiv “Sunny” Sharma as senior vice president of cloud operations and information technology.
Sharma joins from Rocket Fuel, a digital advertising firm, where he led the global engineering technical operations and data center infrastructure teams.
Sharma will have global responsibility for driving RMS’ cloud operations, as well as delivering a broad range of IT initiatives in support of the company’s clients and employees. He reports to Bobby Soni, head of global sales and services, and is based in the company’s Silicon Valley office.
“Sunny is a proven leader of enterprise cloud technology operations and his experience will make a major contribution to the successful delivery of RMS(one)®,” said Soni in a company statement. “As our company continues to grow, Sunny’s extensive experience both optimizing and transforming IT for global companies will be invaluable to our continued success.”
Prior to Rocket Fuel, Sharma was the vice present of global technical operations and IT at Exponential Interactive. He also held several leadership roles at Microsoft. Sharma also worked as a guest professor at the University Of Washington and sits on the advisory boards of several technology companies and startups. He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from National Institute of Technology in Kurukshetra, India.
