Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has appointed Stuart Sutherland as its head of Casualty.
Based in LSM’s London headquarters, Sutherland will report to Alan Telford, chief underwriting officer – Commercial. Joining in July, he will be responsible for the leadership of LSM’s casualty product line.
Sutherland joins LSM from AIG where he was UK head of Casualty, leading a team of 120 people. Prior to that role, he worked for XL Catlin as UK Regional Casualty manager. He has over 30 years’ experience in the London insurance market.

Having written a successful casualty book, he is uniquely placed to drive our business forward….”
