Plum Underwriting, the specialist home insurance managing general agent in the UK market, has opened an underwriting and service center as part of its strategy to support continued growth.
The center, located in Basildon, England, brings together underwriting, claims, pricing, accounts and administration teams from three office locations in Southend, Brentwood and Sudbury.
Creating a centralized operational hub to support all areas of the business, the new center opens with 25 staff. Plum said it will continue its expansion with immediate appointments and plans for further recruitment in the coming months.
As part of the development of the center, Plum has taken on an underwriting team from its third-party administrator partner, Hood Group.
“This new service center reflects Plum’s continual focus on delivering a dedicated and efficient service to our brokers and their clients,” said David Whitaker, managing director of London-based Plum.
Bringing together Plum’s teams outside of London into a central hub creates efficiency and service benefits, which will enable the company “to further innovate and develop the market-leading underwriting and high-quality service standards brokers expect from Plum…,” he added.
