Canopius Appoints AXA XL’s Elliott as APAC Casualty Underwriter

Canopius announced the appointment of Craig Elliott as casualty underwriter for the region, effective May 4, 2020.

He reports to Claudio Saita, head of Australia & Pacific, and is based in the company’s Sydney office, established last June as part of its expansion across the Asia-Pacific region.

Elliott brings more than a decade of industry experience to the role. He joins from AXA XL, where he served most recently as senior casualty underwriter. He previously held similar roles at Allianz Insurance Australia and AIG.

“Craig has come on board to lead Canopius Australia & Pacific’s Casualty insurance practice. His experience and innovative approach to writing public and products liability insurance will be hugely beneficial as we continue to expand in Australia and the Pacific region,” said Saita.
