A summary of these new hires follows here.

MGA Banyan Risk Taps Ex-SiriusPoint CEO Malloy as Executive MD

Banyan Risk Ltd., a specialty managing general agent (MGA) based in Bermuda, announced the appointment of Dan Malloy as executive managing director, as the business enters its next phase of growth and continues to scale its underwriting platform.

Dan Malloy

Malloy is a veteran insurance and reinsurance executive with four decades of industry experience, having held senior executive and leadership positions across a range of brokerage, insurance, and reinsurance companies.

Most recently, he served as CEO of United Risk, an MGA platform. Prior to this, he was CEO of SiriusPoint, and before that CEO of Third Point Re.

During his time as CEO of SiriusPoint, Malloy was instrumental in establishing the partnership between SiriusPoint and Banyan.

Starting on May 1, 2026, he will work closely with Banyan Risk’s co‑ founders and Chief Executive Officers (CEO) Tim Usher-Jones and Peter Horrobin as well as the company’s leadership team to support the continued growth of the business across people, products, and geography.

Malloy has been closely involved with Banyan Risk since its formation and played a key role in the early development of the business.

“Dan is a highly respected industry leader with a track record of profitably growing specialty insurance and reinsurance platforms,” said Usher‑Jones. “His experience and perspective will be invaluable as we continue to grow the business and build on the momentum we have established.”

“Dan has been part of Banyan’s story from the beginning, and he understands exactly what it takes to build a high‑performing underwriting platform,” said Horrobin. “Having him back in a full‑time leadership role is a significant step for us as we continue to grow the business and broaden our underwriting capabilities.”

The announcement follows the recent appointment of John Berger, Bob Cox, and Andrew Cook to the senior Advisory Board in order to support the company’s next phase of growth. Since its launch in 2021, Banyan Risk has expanded its underwriting capabilities, product offering, and geographic footprint, supported by strategic capacity partnerships and targeted senior hires.

CFC Names Finn From Canopius as Head of Cyber Exposure, Proactive Risk

CFC, the London-based managing general agency, announced the appointment of Isabel Finn as head of Cyber Exposure and Proactive Risk, a newly created role designed to strengthen how cyber risk is identified, understood and proactively reduced across the insurance lifecycle.

Isabel Finn

The appointment reflects growing demand from brokers and clients for clearer, more actionable insight into cyber exposure, including visibility on how risk is developing, how it impacts coverage and pricing, and how to reduce it at earlier stages, CFC said.

In her new role, Finn will focus on translating CFC’s deep reserves of real‑world incident data, threat intelligence and monitoring insight into decision‑ready intelligence that supports broker placement conversations and helps clients better understand where their greatest exposures sit.

She will work closely with CFC’s underwriting, product, proactive cyber and incident response teams to ensure exposure insights are directly reflected in underwriting assessment, proactive services and claims mitigation strategies.

Finn joins CFC with a background in cyber security, exposure analysis and risk translation. Throughout her career, she has focused on helping insurers, underwriters and security leaders understand how technical cyber risk manifests in real‑world loss and how it can be mitigated through better insight and prioritization.

Prior to joining CFC, Finn was cyber services manager at Canopius, where she led cyber exposure and service initiatives supporting underwriting and risk reduction. She previously held roles as senior cyber security consultant at FTI Consulting and cyber analyst at Darktrace, building deep experience across incident response, threat analysis and the commercial application of cyber risk insight.

“Cyber risk has become more complex and more data‑rich than ever before. The challenge for the market is turning that data into something brokers and clients can put to use. Isabel’s role is about closing that gap,” commented Jason Hart, managing director, Proactive and Global Cyber Security Services at CFC.

“By strengthening the feedback loop between incidents we see, the intelligence we gather and the way risk is assessed and priced, we’re giving brokers clearer, more practical insight to support placement discussions and help clients take meaningful action to reduce their exposure. That’s increasingly what the market is asking for, and this role is a key step in delivering it,” Hart added.

This new role also strengthens CFC’s engagement with brokers and the wider market, supporting more structured dialogue around how cyber exposure data is shared, interpreted and applied in practice — affecting underwriting decisions as well as proactive risk management and response, CFC continued.
