Southfield, Mich.-based Meadowbrook Insurance Group Inc., which specializes in the alternative risk market, announced that Ralph Milo has joined the company’s board of directors.
Milo was chairman and CEO of Clarendon Insurance Group, a national leader in program business, from 1985 – 2001. Prior to joining Clarendon Insurance Group, Milo was a vice president of General Reinsurance Corporation, and served extensively as a consultant to the insurance industry with special emphasis in the financial and underwriting areas. Before joining General Reinsurance, he was a partner at Coopers & Lybrand where he was involved in consulting with insurers in every facet of financial and underwriting management. His prior experience also includes six years with the Internal Revenue Service, where he dealt with all phases of corporate taxation.
Milo is the co-author of “Federal Income Taxation of Insurance Companies (3rd ed.),” as well as five monographs on tax and financial trends in the insurance industry. He has authored over forty articles for leading insurance industry publications, and actively participates in many insurance industry seminars.
