CNA announced that Robert V. James has been promoted to CNA insurance companies’ executive vice president of U.S. Insurance Operations for CNA Property & Casualty Operations, effective August 26, 2002.
The announcement was made by James R. Lewis who precedes Mr. James in this position. He’s slated to take over as president and CEO of CNA Property & Casualty Operations on the same date.
“In his new position, Mr. James will have responsibility for all primary standard commercial lines and U.S. operations, including $4 billion in revenues; as well as the property & casualty Processing and Billing Operations,” said the bulletin.
Prior to joining CNA, James served as president, Middle Markets, for AIG, and “held numerous operations and sales management positions at Allstate Insurance.” CNA’s statement also noted that he has been “an independent agency producer and owner; and has held marketing, underwriting, operations and technology assignments with Allmerica Financial Corporation.”
Lewis indicated that, “Bob’s business experience, strong leadership skills and his recent experience in technology make for a winning combination that will be an asset to our property and casualty team.”
