New York-based Folksamerica Reinsurance Co. announce that it has hired 22 former employees of CNA Reinsurance to staff its newly formed Chicago office. Folksamerica recently acquired the renewal rights to CNA Re’s assumed treaty reinsurance portfolio.
Brian Flanagan has been appointed senior vice president and branch manager for the Chicago office. Flanagan brings more than 20 years of experience to this challenging position. John Beckman has also been appointed senior vice president. Beckman has over 10 years of underwriting and actuarial experience in the US and abroad.
New vice presidents include Frank Coglianese, Deanne Dietrich-Nixon, David Hanes, Russell McGuire and Steve Strauss. Ken Rupert was appointed vice president and actuarial officer.
Folksamerica, a multi-line broker market reinsurer, is a wholly owned subsidiary of White Mountains Insurance Group Ltd. and boasts $1 billion in capital.
