Burns & Wilcox Relocates Kan. Office

March 8, 2006

Burns & Wilcox, a national specialty insurance managing general agency, announces the expansion and move of the company’s Overland Park, Kan., office.

“We will continue to provide the market advantages of a national organization to fulfill the varied and ever changing needs of our local agents,” said Howard Felber, manager of the Overland Park office.

Burns & Wilcox of Overland Park is now located at 84 Corporate Woods, Suite 725, 10801 Mastin Blvd., Overland Park, Kansas 66210. The office’s phone number remains (913) 451-3135 and the fax number remains (913) 451-3156. Felber can be contacted via e-mail at hlfelber@burns-wilcox.com. The office operates in collaboration with Burns & Wilcox’s St. Louis office.

“Our expanded location allows us to meet the growing needs of our agents,” Felber said. “We have had particular success in environmental coverage, general contractors, tough products and large properties. ‘Main street’ business, such as bars/taverns, apartments and the like, continue to provide a solid base for our business.”

Another growing area in the specialty market place is nonprofit directors and officers coverage. Four of five homes being built today will have some sort of condo or homeowners association. Board members are often unaware of the risk of personal liability and litigation that they are taking on. If the board of directors is responsible for an accident on the property or improperly terminating an employee — they could find themselves very liable, Felber explained.

Due to strong, continued growth, 11 Burns & Wilcox offices have expanded in the last year, along with three new offices opening.

Burns & Wilcox identifies itself as North America’s largest independently owned managing general insurance agent. With more than 860 employees nationwide, the Farmington Hills, Michigan-based company serves more than 30,000 agents through its network of 36 offices in 24 states.
