Ill. Agents Host Annual Industry Legislative Day March 20

The Professional Independent Insurance Agents of Illinois (PIIAI), in conjunction with the Illinois Insurance Association (IIA), Illinois Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (IAIFA), Illinois State Association of Health Underwriters (ISAHU), Illinois Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (IAMIC), and the Financial Planning Association of Illinois (FPA of IL), and NAIFA Illinois is hosting a Legislative Day, Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at 11:30 a.m.at President Abraham Lincoln Hotel in Springfield, Ill.

According the PIIAI media advisory, the annual event sponsored by the agents is designed to bring insurance producers, financial planners, and company representatives together with their state legislators to discuss legislative and regulatory issues affecting the industry.

Important topics to be covered include; gross tax receipts, producer compensation disclosure, payroll taxation and Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich’s Health Access Plan.

Also featured will be renowned speaker Ilona Nickels. Nickels, an advocate for enhanced public understanding of how government really works, brings over 30 years of Capitol Hill experience to her non-partisan presentations, according to the PIIAI.

The Professional Independent Insurance Agents of Illinois, headquartered in Springfield, Ill., represents independent insurance agents throughout the state. PIIAI membership is comprised of 1,500 insurance agencies representing 12,000 licensed independent agents.
