John Spragle has announced his retirement as president of Waterloo, Iowa-based VGM Insurance effective July 1, 2010. Tom Jones is slated to take over as president of the company upon Spragle’s retirement.
Jones has expertise and familiarity with the Durable Medical Equipment industry, one of VGM Insurance’s core markets. He earned the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter and other designations while acquiring knowledge and experience in areas of insurance company management, sales, and claims adjusting.
During the past 20 years, Spragle has helped build VGM Insurance into a nationally-known leader in formulating and delivering insurance products, the company’s announcement stated. During this time, Spragle exemplified great leadership and administrative skills that became the foundation for growth and evolution within the company that his successors will continue to build on.
VGM Insurance specializes in insurance for medical device companies, including liability insurance for this growing industry.
VGM Insurance is part of the The VGM Group, formed by Van G. Miller and Associates. In 1990 VGM Insurance was created to help Home Medical Equipment companies with their specialized insurance needs and over the years the VGM Group has grown to include more than 25 separate companies.
VGM and VGM Insurance will host a retirement reception for Spragle on July 1.
