A 12-pound Canada goose crashed through the windshield of a sport utility vehicle as a woman drove on the highway in Bay County.
Williams Township assistant fire chief Craig Pickelman said the unnamed 35-year-old woman suffered cuts on her face that appeared minor. She was taken to Bay Regional Medical Center.
Pickelman told The Bay City Times the woman was driving the SUV on U.S. 10 around 6 p.m. Monday when the Canada goose suddenly swooped in front of her.
It crashed through the vehicle’s windshield on the driver’s side and ended up, dead, in the far rear of the SUV.
The woman was traveling alone.
Pickelman called it “a first in all my years.”
