Zurich Insurance plans to add 150 jobs to its workforce in Chicago.
Zurich is a commercial property-casualty insurance provider that already has 350 employees in the city.
Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced the additional jobs on July 23. In a statement, Emanuel says Chicago is an attractive location for employers and has a highly skilled workforce.
Mike Foley is CEO of North America Commercial for Zurich Insurance Group, and he calls Chicago “a hub for the global insurance market” and says it makes sense for Zurich to expand its presence in the city.
In addition to its Chicago workforce, Zurich employs more than 2,500 people at its North American headquarters in Schaumburg.
