The Michigan Automobile Insurance Placement Facility (MAIPF) has named Mark Wagenschutz as executive director.
Wagenschutz will oversee the organization’s mission to guarantee that automobile insurance is available to Michigan citizens who are unable to obtain it in the competitive market. He will also lead the MAIPF’s Help Eliminate Auto Thefts (H.E.A.T.) Program, which operates a confidential tip line (1-800-242-HEAT) for reporting information about auto theft, carjacking and auto theft-related insurance fraud.
Wagenschutz comes to MAIPF after a 24-year career at insurance firm State Farm where he served in a variety of leadership roles, including most recently as planning and strategy manager. His experience ranges from auto underwriting to auto claims management, customer service and organizational planning.
Wagenschutz holds the CPCU, ChFC and CLU professional designations. He succeeds Terri A. Miller, who left the position in mid-April.
