Michigan Governor-Elect Gretchen Whitmer has selected Anita Fox to head the Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services.
Fox brings more than 30 years of experience in the legal field to the role, having specialized in litigating a wide range of business and insurance issues.
She will succeed current DIFS Director Patrick M. McPharlin, who was appointed by outgoing Gov. Rick Snyder and has served in the post since May 2015.

After receiving a bachelor’s degree from Kalamazoo College, Fox graduated cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School. She also holds a State of Michigan Secondary Teaching Certificate.
Fox resides in Okemos, Michigan.
