An Ohio aluminum manufacturing company accused of misleading investigators and its parent company after a fatal workplace accident has pleaded guilty to a related federal charge about concealing information on a crime.
Extrudex Aluminum in North Jackson this week pleaded guilty to misprision of a felony. Sentencing is scheduled Aug. 1.
The Vindicator reports an attorney for Extrudex, Chris Georgalis, declined to comment.
One man was killed and another seriously hurt when heavy racks tipped as they were being pushed on a roller conveyor system at the business in 2012.
A former plant manager and safety coordinator are accused of covering up safety concerns about the roller system and pressuring other employees to do so after the accident. They have pleaded not guilty to federal charges including obstruction of justice.
