The Nebraska Department of Insurance is planning brief, one-hour, biannual workshops for insurance agents each October and April to discuss the changes in the Flood Insurance Manual. The first such workshop will be held on Oct. 29.
The department said the workshops will become more and more informative upon approach the unveiling of Risk Rating 2.0, a whole new way of rating flood insurance. These workshops will also discuss issues with writing claims, or any topic that would seem relevant to agents who write flood insurance policies.
The first workshop will be held on Thursday, Oct. 29, at 2:00pm (Central). Though this workshop is a cooperative effort between FEMA, Nebraska DNR, and the Nebraska Department of Insurance, the issues discussed should be of interest to insurance agents anywhere, and all are welcome.
This workshop has been approved for one credit hour of property and casualty for Nebraska resident agents. As a part of the registration, agents will be required to provide their National Producer Number (NPN) to receive credit.
