Joan Zerkovich has been named senior vice president of operations for the American Association of Insurance Services (AAIS), a national advisory organization that develops policy forms and manuals for property/casualty insurers in the U.S.
Before coming to AAIS, Zerkovich served as chief technology officer at Metropolitan State University of Denver, and as chief financial officer and CIO of Veterinarians Without Borders.
Zerkovich has also served as chief information officer for ICAT Holdings, an intermediary specializing in catastrophe risk. At ICAT, her team developed web-based applications for real-time data exchanges between systems and customized catastrophe insurance products.
Prior to her years at ICAT, Zerkovich spent 13 years in information technology positions with the University of California system, which included work on projects that contributed to the initial public access to the Internet, and to the digitalization of the university’s library system statewide.
