Great American Insurance Group has launched a new line of specialty insurance products through its new Aviation Division. This venture will kick off the underwriting of the new product line on April 1, 2014.
The Aviation Division will be headed by Michael Chevrette, divisional senior vice president. A former U.S. Marine air traffic controller and aviation insurance professional, Chevrette and his team will provide insurance options to a wide array of segments within the aviation market.
Chevrette holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, as well as a Master of Business Administration in Finance from St. John’s University. Great American’s Aviation Division will be headquartered in East Brunswick, N.J.
Based in Cincinnati, Ohio, the operations of Great American Insurance Group are engaged primarily in property and casualty insurance, focusing on specialty commercial products for businesses, and in the sale of traditional fixed and fixed-indexed annuities in the retail, financial institutions, and education markets. The members of the Great American Insurance Group are subsidiaries of American Financial Group, Inc. (AFG), also based in Cincinnati.
