CAMICO Wins IMCA Marketing Award; Allstate, Hartford, Jackson Also Honored

CAMICO won the SAMMY Award for overall Best of Show in insurance industry marketing and communications at the annual Insurance Marketing and Communications Association (IMCA) Showcase Awards gala this week in Nashville.

Attendees at the four-day conference voted on the SAMMY Award, selecting CAMICO for its website redesign project. CAMICO is a California mutual insurer for certified public accountants.

Jackson National Life, Allstate Business Insurance and Hartford Financial Services Group were also honored.

IMCA’s Showcase Awards recognize what members believe is outstanding marketing and communications work in the insurance industry. According to Mark Friedlander, IMCA president and head of corporate communications at The Main Street America Group, entries are drawn from all corners of the insurance industry.

“The competition was stronger than ever this year,” Friedlander said.

Other top honorees this year included Jackson, which won six awards, including five Awards of Excellence; Allstate Business Insurance, which captured the most Best of Show awards with three; and The Hartford Financial Services Group, which received five awards overall.

Allstate Business Insurance earned the most Best of Show awards, with three: mobile marketing for “Commercial Locker” a small business inventory tool; electronic marketing or interactive communications and websites with “Allstate.com/Business Re-Launch;” and public relations, single piece with “Satellite Media Tour – What Keeps Small Business

Owners Up at Night?”

The Hartford Financial Services Group received five awards total, two of them being Best of Show. These Best of Show awards were earned for its “The Hartford’s Consumer Humor Campaign” in the category of total sales/marketing/branding campaign over $100,000 and “The Hartford’s 2015 U.S. Paralympic Calendar” in the in-house product or image advertising category.

For Jackson, its Awards of Excellence honors fell across several categories. The company’s Best of Show award was earned for its “Human Resources Brochure” in the in-house product or image marketing category.

Other winners of Best in Show awards included: ACUITY, AmWINS Group, Aon Affinity, CAMICO, Foremost Insurance Group, Freedom Specialty Insurance Co., Great American Insurance Group, Independent Agent Magazine, Jewelers Mutual Insurance Co., John Hancock Insurance, Northbridge, Preferred Mutual Insurance, RBK Advertising + Design, RiverSource Life Insurance Co., Sun Life Financial/Rogers Communications, The Cincinnati Insurance Cos., The Co-operators, The Doctors Co., The Guardian Life Insurance Co. of America, The Hanover Insurance Group and Zurich Insurance.

Several companies won two or more Award of Excellence honors including AmWINS Group, CNA, John Hancock Insurance, Manulife, MICA, Sun Life Financial/Rogers Communications, The Cincinnati Insurance Cos., The Hanover Insurance Group, The Hartford Financial Services Group, The Main Street America Group and Zurich Insurance.

Additional Award of Excellence winners included AIG, California Earthquake Authority, CAMICO, EMC, Eric Mower + Associates, Foremost Insurance Group, Great American Insurance Group, Ironshore Insurance, John Hancock Insurance, Liberty Mutual Insurance, MAPFRE Insurance, MICA, MMIC and UMIA, Missouri Employers Mutual , NAMIC, NORCAL Mutual Insurance Co., Northbridge, PEMCO Insurance, RBK Advertising + Design, Shelter Insurance, The Co-operators, The Doctors Co., The Guardian Life Insurance Co. of America, Vela Insurance Services, a W.R. IMCA membership includes more than 120 multi-line insurance companies and brokerage firms, regional and specialty companies, general agencies and industry suppliers.
