Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has expanded its construction-focused capabilities with the introduction of the Homebuilders Liability Insurance Policy, which extends flexible protection for tract homebuilders nationwide.
Bill Sullivan, vice president, head of Construction Casualty for BHSI, said its proprietary homebuilders form is part of a stream of new products for the sector. BHSI launched contractor’s pollution and professional liability coverages earlier this year; it also underwrites construction casualty, builder’s risk, and contract surety.
BHSI’s Homebuilders Liability Insurance Policy provides coverage for bodily injury and property damage, personal and advertising injury and contains a specialized coverage part to address construction defects and completed operations.
The policy is customizable, with self-insured retentions tailored to individual operations, wrap up options are available and up to $15 million in limits can be provided. Coverage is paired with the loss control and claims services of BHSI’s construction specialists.
BHSI provides commercial property, casualty, healthcare professional liability, executive and professional lines, surety, travel, programs, and homeowners insurance.
