A Shreveport, La.-area insurance agent’s license was reinstated after an administrative law panel found no evidence that it should have been suspended by the Louisiana Department of Insurance.
The department suspended the license of Tanya Mclain Weems in August 2009 and issued a cease and desist order directing Weems to stop selling insurance. The department at that time alleged unlawful activity conducted by Weems in November 2008.
At a hearing in late December, however, an administrative law tribunal “concluded there was absolutely no evidence to support” the license suspension and C&D order.
An order signed by Administrative Law Judge Robert Aguiluz lifted the suspension and C&D order.
Weems was issued a Casualty, Property and Vehicle Physical Damage license in November 1996. The insurance department’s Web site shows that Weems’ insurance license is now active.
The Shreveport Times reported that Weems had been working at Maynard, Clark & Teasley Insurance at the time of the license suspension.
